THICKETCLAN
thrushwhisker
APPEARANCE Trushwhisker’s build can be described as short and stocky. He is smaller than the average size of male cats, but to make up for it has a remarkably powerful body. His legs are strong and his paws are huge, which make him an excellent digger. His fur is long and spiky, especially around his neck, down his belly, and spreads into feathery fur on his tail. Ferdinand loves to be filthy, so he is almost always covered in dirt, mud, sticks, leaves, and grass of all kinds. As one can assume, he doesn’t smell very nice. Pelt wise, Thrushwhisker has all the markings of a bengal cat with large bengal spots along his torso and down his tail. He has several rings of stripes around his neck and on his legs that end in freckled paws. Thrushwhisker has sharp, angular forest green eyes and two prodding canine teeth in an overbite. PERSONALITY Thrushwhisker, when you get past all the roguish smiles and dashing charisma, is a compulsive liar to a fault and a chameleon who shifts his outward appearance to fit like a gear into any new machine. He is notoriously hard to get close to, and anyone speaking to him is unsure whether he is telling the truth and opening up to them or just spinning another story to satisfy their curiosity. He certainly has a way with words and has a reputation for being able to manipulate anyone into doing what he wants, but he often just uses his unimpeachable wit to dodge questions and give answers hidden masterfully in his innocuous speech. He is too clever for his own good, and while he is often the first to think of solutions, he is also prone to overthinking. There is a certain sense of self-loathing in his eyes, but more often than not, he is giving bad nicknames, telling jokes, spinning fantastical tales, and talking people out of their prized possessions.
HISTORY Thrushwhisker, while born entirely in Thicketclan, was born to a family exiled from their little band of rogues to the north for violating customs, and who migrated to the clans whilst seeking protection and a peace of mind. His parents died in a fatal accident early on involving a weak tree in a thunderstorm, and Thrushwhisker is left only with his older sister. While his older sister is seen as the level-headed, calm alternative, Thrushwhisker is the lazy, rough-and-tumble little brother with little worth, and this outsider perspective hanged how he thought of himself from a very early age. In an effort to keep his peers from seeing the real cat that may indefinitely disappoint them once compared to his sister, he began to spin fanciful tales and lies to keep his honour. Frankly, it’s easier to go along with them instead of going back and telling the truth, so Thrushwhisker continues on. It’s nothing compared to being in his sister’s shadow, of course. |
